how to make your own character sprites rpg maker mv

EDIT: After doing a bit more searching I was able to find a sprite grid after thanks to for telling me what I needed because I did not know. Thank you for any advice you can give me. If anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong please tell me because I'm just really annoyed because I cannot figure what causing my sprite not to show up properly. This is how my sprite comes out in rpg maker.

I did realize that the color shows in RPG Maker so I have left it transparency. Here is the full file of the sprite the reason there is ton of space because I will be adding other characters soon. It's really frustrating because I cannot figure out how to get my sprite to fit within MV. The problem is my sprite does not show up well at all and I have tried everything I search for like putting the $ and ! importing them from the resource manager but my sprite gets cut off. I also just drew a layer on top of the preexisting default assets until I got a hang of how to format the sprites. When I started using rpgmaker I looked up the size of individual tiles and sprites and drew within the confines of that image size. I have not completely finished the sprite yet but wanted to put it into the software to see how it moves and such. Assuming you even have or know of your preferred image editing program. I had look at a bunch of tutorials changing the default sprites because I did not want them to be chibi so I had made them a bit more taller. This is because the event and movement route have already set the direction and pattern, so it knows the column and row - you just have to give it the 'group' of characters to select from.A few days ago I just got into RPG Maker MV and started making some sprites for a game I would like to make at some point. However, if you're adding the sprite using the Movement Route's Change Sprite/Graphics command, it won't let you select an individual sprite from the sheet, but a whole character. You may not see the entire character in the editor, because that is limited to exactly 48x48 pixels, but when you play the character will show up correctly. When you add the sprite to the event using the sprite image box, it will let you select any one of these 12 (or 96) sprites. Or you could make a multi-character spritesheet of 8 of these individual sprites, in 4 columns x 2 rows (so 12 x 8 individual sprites) with no $ at the start of the filename. If your individual sprite images are 48x48, you would place 3 columns x 4 rows and put a $ at the start of the filename for a single character. Yes, what do you mean by 'they appear to be too small'? Can you post a screenshot to explain this?
